This autumn we will be sharing our 10 best autumn tips in the geopark, both here on the homepage and on our Instagram page! Here is part 1 of 10:

Lintjärn at Döda Fallet, a miniature canyon
It was in Lintjärn that the canyon began to form approximately 7 000 years ago. It was here that the rapid was born, which would later become Storforsen. The rapid slowly worked its way backwards through the bedrock and the currents wore it down to create a valley with steep, vertical walls. The bedrock here is heavily cracked, which helps the water to create whirls that serve to wear down the rock with the help of gravel and sand. Lintjärn is a perfect stop for a picnic when exploring Döda fallet or walking the family trail in the nature reserve!
