The Geopark took part in JHT’s FAM trip

Last week, the Geopark had the pleasure of hosting one of JHT’s FAM-trips, a “get-to-know” journey where tour operators from different countries are invited to experience Jämtland Härjedalen. We had the joy of welcoming two of these guests, Henning from Germany and Jane from England, together with some of our colleagues from JHT.

We started the day at Stadsberget, where Carina Landin talked about the unique magma chamber that makes the site so special and geologically interesting. The next stop was the Krångede Hydropower Museum, where a guided tour gave us an insight into what life was like in the area when the power plant was built and at its peak of activity. The visit ended with a much-appreciated fika-break.

After the break, we continued to the day’s highlight, Döda fallet. The visit began at the visitor center, where we shared more about Geopark Indalsälven and its various sites. Afterwards, Robert Falk led us on a guided walk through the falls, telling the dramatic story of the draining of Lake Ragunda and the role of Magnus Huss.

It was an inspiring day full of great encounters, and we truly hope that Ragundadalen and the Geopark will soon welcome many more international visitors!
